My interest in yoga started in the early 1980s, beginning with hatha yoga and expanded over time, as I discovered that yoga is much more than simply exercise for the body. I have been involved with Swami Radha’s teachings about yoga since 1992, at which time I did an intensive three month course at her centre – Yasodhara Ashram in Kootenay Bay, B.C. Since then my involvment has continued, and Swami Radha’s teachings have been an underpinning of support in my life, bringing me support and inspiration. I especially appreciate how the teachings have shown me about symbolism in my daily life, which helps to create more depth and meaning for me. Hari Om |

I have been practicing hatha yoga for 40 years. In 1996, I discovered Swami Sivananda Radha’s Hidden Language of Hatha Yoga at Yasodhara Ashram and knew I had found my spiritual home. I completed the three-month Yoga Development Course and five months in residence there in 1998 and have been teaching and learning ever since. I repeated the Yoga Development Course and stayed on at the Ashram until the end of August in 2010, putting Swami Radha’s practical teachings and spiritual practices to work in my daily life, and re-certifying in Hidden Language Teacher Training. I re-certified in Kundalini and Dream Yoga Teaching in August 2011. I look forward to offering these these precious practices to others.

Everyday is an opportunity to practice. Yoga, has taken on a whole universe of meanings, styles and variations. For me, Yoga is all one – Yoga is pursuit of my own divine nature through quality and awareness of thought, speech and action.

I took my first hatha yoga class ten years ago, spending the next three years looking for deeper meaning in the poses and practices. I found that at Yasodhara Ashram, enrolling without hesitation in the Yoga Development Course and staying at the community for eight months. The practices of yoga have helped me become a better person — to better understand my mind, my interactions with others, and how I can make this a better world through service. I am thrilled to offer the teachings of Swami Sivananda Radha to the people of Edmonton. I re-certified my hatha yoga teacher training in spring 2012.

The yogic teachings as I have come to know and love them through many years of personal reflection and regular visits to Yasodhara Ashram have helped me transform my life. I find that cultivating gratitude allows me to be more receptive to my own wholeness. I do my best to bring that attitude to my yoga teaching, satsang, and my day-to-day life. I marvel at how readily incoming students relate to the teachings to bring forth their own inner Light in real and practical ways to make their own lives more meaningful. I do this work because it is so inspiring! I re-certified in Kundalini and Dream Yoga Teaching in August 2011.
